As the Titanic and its passengers slowly sank a nearby ship looked on. Officer Herbert Stone was in charge of the midnight watch on the Californian and saw the distress rockets the Titanic fired, he alerted the captain Stanley Lord but he did not show as he was sleeping below. Eight rockets were fired and ignored and by by the next morning the Titanic had sunk and 1,500 passengers were dead. Will the truth ever arise as to what happened during that midnight watch and why the Californian did not respond?
The Midnight Watch is a powerful and interesting story for fans who enjoyed the Titanic. Thanks to Netgalley I got the chance to read this well written, easy to read story. I decided to read this story as I am a fan of Titanic and this is a story with a different perspective of what happened even if it is only fiction, I really enjoyed it and found it very interesting. However, I do understand this may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I would highly recommend it to you all. It does have long chapters but would be the ideal read for readers who enjoy drama and historical fiction. Enjoy, I know I did!
