Blurb; She’s a friendly voice on the phone. But can you trust her?
The people who call End of the Line need hope. They need reassurance that life is worth living. But some are unlucky enough to get through to Laura. Laura doesn’t want them to hope. She wants them to die.
Laura hasn’t had it easy: she’s survived sickness and a difficult marriage only to find herself heading for forty, unsettled and angry. She doesn’t love talking to people worse off than she is. She craves it.
But now someone’s on to her—Ryan, whose world falls apart when his pregnant wife ends her life, hand in hand with a stranger. Who was this man, and why did they choose to die together?
The sinister truth is within Ryan’s grasp, but he has no idea of the desperate lengths Laura will go to…
Because the best thing about being a Good Samaritan is that you can get away with murder.
My Review; WOW! Where do I start? First of all I love the cover. The prologue of The Good Samaritan will have you intrigued, hooked and enthralled, which for me is the perfect beginning to any story. This is one of those stories which you will want to devour in one sitting (I tried). John Marrs has done it again and wrote a belter of a book which is thrilling and gripping, easy to read, written well and contains short chapters. However, certain parts can be a little grim and daunting.
The Good Samaritan is cleverly written, set out and told through the two main characters Ryan and Laura. Laura is not everything she seems to be, she is a very devious, clever and shady character which I hated throughout. Ryan is not much better either but with the way the story went I actually started feeling sorry for Ryan. I must also mention the ending, wow what an ending. It leaves the reader open to interpret there own ending as it ends on quite a dramatic cliffhanger (Grr). I awarded an outstanding five stars, I enjoyed every minute reading this story and John Marrs didn’t disappoint. Brilliant book. I would highly recommend you all go and pre-order this book now ready for release day on the 1st of December. I can already tell this is going to be another bestseller.
