Blurb; Five figures gather round a shallow grave. They had all taken turns to dig. An adult sized hole would have taken longer. An innocent life had been taken but the pact had been made. Their secrets would be buried, bound in blood …
Years later, a headmistress is found brutally strangled, the first in a spate of gruesome murders which shock the Black Country.
But when human remains are discovered at a former children’s home, disturbing secrets are also unearthed. D.I. Kim Stone fast realises she’s on the hunt for a twisted individual whose killing spree spans decades.
As the body count rises, Kim needs to stop the murderer before they strike again. But to catch the killer, can Kim confront the demons of her own past before it’s too late?
My Review; I recently read this book as part of a buddy read alongside some fellow bloggers. This is a series I have been meaning to read for ages, so thrilled I finally got around to reading it.
They say Angela is the queen of crime? I can certainly see why after reading just the first book in the series. It was bloody brilliant, what a way to kick off the series. Very impressed. I was hooked and absolutely loved it.
Kim Stone. What a unique and interesting character. I loved her sarcasm and attitude. She is a very determined character who won’t let anything or anyone stop her from doing what she wants, she is also a very smart/clever lady. However, a lady with a dark, secret past which she holds close to heart.
Silent Scream has twist, after twist after twist! It constantly has you guessing, on the edge of your seat and shocked throughout. A real page turner. I did not expect the outcome at all! I already cannot wait to see what lies ahead for us in the rest of this series. I loved how even though this is book one in the series the team talk about the past together, they are a great team. Highky recommend book one of the DI Kim Stone series. A well deserved five stars from myself.
As Silent Scream has been a buddy read we will be reading a book each month from this series. Below are the blogs of the others who have taken part in the buddy read too, so check out what they thought;
