*BLOG TOUR* Broadland – David Blake ★★★★

Blurb; When a girl’s body is found strangled, raped, and horrifically mutilated by a boat’s propeller, deep in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, newly arrived Detective Inspector John Tanner is asked to assist with the investigation.

At first, all the evidence points to a man who had a multi-million pound reason to kill her. But when an alibi is produced from an unexpected source, and another body appears at the base of a slipway, Tanner finds himself turning to local girl, Detective Constable Jenny Evans for help.

As a more intimate relationship begins between them, they find themselves facing a race against time to identify a lethal adversary, one with a lust for blood and a mind set on revenge.

My Review; NO. NO WAY. That ending and outcome. NO! Shocking. Jaw dropping… Could never see that coming. Broadland is book one in the brand new series DI Tanner…

Tanner has recently moved to another police station and is back to the basics (for now)… However, first day of the job… There’s a body. A killer to be found. There is a lot of tension between Tanner and Burgess who have to share this case with them both being DI’s and both wanting to prove themselves worthy which takes them down some wrong paths along the way…

Tanner and Jenny make the perfect police duo with some laughs along the way. A clever, twisted and dark case emerges. Towards the end it is a fast paced, page turner of a read to find out the outcome.

A brilliantly written story. I enjoyed reading this one. A well deserved four stars from me and I am looking forward to what lies ahead for Tanner next in this series. A great start to this new series. Highly recommend.
