Blurb; Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas is the hilarious, poignant and entertaining story of the life of a junior doctor at the most challenging time of the year. With twenty-five tales of intriguing, shocking and incredible Christmas incidents, the British public will finally appreciate the sacrifices made and the challenges faced by the unsung heroes of the NHS.
My Review; I absolutely loved This Is Going To Hurt so I was thrilled when I found out about this. It didn’t disappoint. It’s a short and snappy book that looks at Adams time working in the NHS over a number of Christmas’s. Ofcourse you’ve got the utterly wierd and hilarious incidents to laugh over and think what goes on in some peoples heads? Then you’ve got the harsh reality that it’s not all funny. Death and horrible things still happened over Christmas.
There was one part in the story which he warns you about and you have the option to skip, I didn’t and it broke my heart reading that part. As we all know the NHS never stops. Not even for Christmas! So this is a glimpse into the NHS at Christmas. We should all consider those working for the NHS over Christmas while we spending Christmas at home with our families. They’re the hereos.
Brilliantly written. Truthful and honest. A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend.
