Apple and Rain – Sarah Crossan ★★★★

Blurb; When Apple’s mother returns after eleven years away, Apple feels whole again. But just like the stormy Christmas Eve when she left, her mother’s homecoming is bittersweet. It’s only when Apple meets someone more lost than she is that she begins to see things as they really are.

A story about sad endings.
A story about happy beginnings.
A story to make you realise who is special.

My Review; I am loving this authors work and making my way through them all. They’re all so good. Perfect for young adult readers each story tackles an important message or concern.

Apple is the main character in this story, she has a happy life living with her nan until everything changes… She loses her bestfriend and her mother returns. Not all great news. However, she gives her mother a chance and it doesn’t go to plan after being introduced to a little sister called Rain. I loved little Rain bless her heart, kids hear and see more than we think. They’re clever. Anyway…

Apple soon realises she made a huge mistake and her mother is not what she thought at all. Personally I didn’t like her mother at all in this story. But happy ending and all that… Another story to make you think! Absolutely loved Apple and Rains characters and they’re adorable nan!

A nice read. Enjoyed it. Well written. An easy read. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me.
