The Donor – Clare Mackintosh ★★★★

Blurb; She gave you everything. But what does she want in return?

When Lizzie’s daughter Meg is given a life-saving heart transplant, Lizzie feels hugely grateful to the nameless donor. Then she receives a letter from the donor’s mother, Karen, asking to meet, and it seems like the least she can do.

But as soon as Karen is welcomed into their lives, Lizzie feels something isn’t right. And before long, she can’t help but worry that by inviting Karen in, she might have put Meg in danger . . .

My Review; This has to be the best quick read I have read yet! Thrilling. Gripping. Tense. Edgy. Dark. Twisted. Deadly. I was hooked. I am a big fan of this authors books but due to concentration levels going awol quick reads are helping me. This is brilliantly written. Full of suspense.

Meg is given a new heart through a donor and the family soon gets in touch with the donors family and a relationship emerges which quickly turns dark and deadly fast. They were warned not to have contact and they should have listened. Heart pounding especially the ending had my pulse racing. A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend. Loved it. Brilliant.
