*BLOG TOUR* The Ticklemore Christmas Toy Shop – Liz Davies ★★★★★

Blurb; You’re never too old to fall in love…

There is a disturbance in the force and octogenarian Hattie Jenkins can feel it in her water. Still active and spritely, she guesses that the miserable-looking gentleman sitting morosely in the café where she works, might be the reason.

Widowed Alfred Miller has recently moved in with his daughter because she is worried that he’s becoming too frail and forgetful to look after himself. And he’s not in the least bit happy about it, especially since his home is soon be cleared and sold.

But when he enlists Hattie’s help to save some of his precious belongings, he doesn’t realise that Hattie’s mission is to save more than a few sticks of furniture. She’s on a mission to save him, too.

My Review; Happy Publication Day. This is one I would urge you all to add to your upcoming Christmas piles. Well worth it and you won’t regret it. It’s bloody brilliant and here’s why…

The two main characters Hattie and Alfred and both OAPS, both widows and both lonely. They come together in the most unlikely of ways and both their lives change over toys! But not just any toys… These are beautiful, rare and handmade olden toys. I instantly fell in love with both of them. I really did. I just wanted to cuddle them both.

It’s a romantic comedy with Christmas thrown in making it a perfect read. It’s bound to make you smile and giggle in parts. It’s a real uplifting read. I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved it all especially the ending. It’s a story about friendships, love and the community coming together. Amazing. Just cause you’re old that doesn’t mean life has to stop…

I cannot recommend this book enough. A well deserved five stars from me. Highly recommend. May even end up in my top 20 reads of the year.
