Blurb; When every day is a struggle to survive…
When the rich and powerful hold all the cards…
Do you accept the way things are?
Would you fight to change them?
Eliza is angry. Angry that her family work all the hours yet never have enough to live on. Angry that conditions at the factory where she and her sister work are so harsh. Angry that no one seems to care.
When Eliza speaks out, her words spark fury among the rest of the workers and the flame of rebellion is lit.
But can one girl really inspire an uprising that will change the world?
My Review; This is a children’s quick read at just 101 pages but one full of impact. It’s set in London in the 1880s and its got such great descriptions throughout I was transported back in time. Its about women standing up for themselves. Changing the work space. Looking after their health and wage. Marches. Strikes. Very bold. Brave. Determined women who come together to change the world. Although it is fiction is it based off true events that actually happened. Uplifting. Hopeful.
Devoured this in just an hour last night. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me.
