The Choice -S.J. Ford ★★★★

Blurb; The Husband.
The Lawyer.
The Detective.
The Journalist.
The Murderer.
You are the jury.

When Jane Bell uncovered that her next-door neighbour planned to blow up their local primary school, she tried to get the police to listen to her. When they chose to do nothing, she took matters into her own hands.

Jane Bell saved the children. She is a hero. She stopped a terrorist attack. She murdered a man. Jane Bell committed a crime, and no matter what her reasons are surely she must face the legal repercussions of her actions.

Now several people follow Jane’s case, each with their own thoughts on what happened. Is Jane the hero or the villain? It’s up to you to decide.

My Review; This was a buddy with Mel from Melanie’s Reads. We both bought this for 99p and decided to buddy read it straight away doing 20% each day. The story is told through several different characters. Now the beginning… Brilliant. Fast paced. Everything go go go. Then it thinned out in the middle all about the court case, evidence etc. Myself and Mel both thought that was it… It was all going to be about the case and verdict from then on. A rushed beginning with the case to follow both considering it a three star read. UNTIL…

The biggest plot twist ever towards the end which neither of us expected. Like boom. Pow. Take that. Knocked us over and left us shocked which bumped it back up to a four star read for both of us. The ending killed me off. Honestly could not believe it and left me asking that one question I still want to know… Was she guilty of murder or innocent? Very open ended for the reader to finish it themselves.

Would you take a life to save many? Mel would. I would probably hire someone to do it for me if I couldn’t get any help from elsewhere. Brilliant read. We both really enjoyed it. A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend.
