Blurb; He is her husband. She is his captive.
Her husband calls her Jane. That is not her name.
She lives in a small farm cottage, surrounded by vast, open fields. Everywhere she looks, there is space. But she is trapped. No one knows how she got to the UK: no one knows she is there. Visitors rarely come to the farm; if they do, she is never seen.
Her husband records her every movement during the day. If he doesn’t like what he sees, she is punished.
For a long time, escape seemed impossible. But now, something has changed. She has a reason to live and a reason to fight. Now, she is watching him, and waiting . . .
My Review; I have loved this previous authors books so when one of my facebook groups was reading this as a group read I jumped on it and soon devoured it. OMG. Now I don’t know if it’s cause I’m heavily pregnant and due any day or that I’ve grown soft but this book is dark, disturbing and descriptive. Parts had my stomach turning and I think the whole story was more real for me as it does contain childbirth and a newborn which is me anytime soon. I honestly felt for Jane throughout that poor woman. I longed for her to fight back, kill him or escape but I also understood why she didn’t. Some shocking outcomes to this story that I never expected. It was a truelly gripping, thrilling read. Hard to put down. Would highly recommmend to everyone. A well deserved five stars from me.
