The Swimmer – Graham Norton ★★★★

Blurb; Helen is a retired teacher living on the Irish coast. She enjoys the peace and quiet – despite the burden of Margaret, her unpleasant sister. Margaret arrived three years ago for a short holiday, but somehow managed to stay and worm her way into Helen’s life.

One day, Helen sees a man struggling in the sea and decides to investigate. She doesn’t quite know what it is, but something about it feels very strange…

My Review; This is a short read at just 80 pages long. A mystery/suspense story which soon turns dark. A very clever crime/story line. Loved how the main character Helen turned into detective mode and didn’t give up even when harm was coming her way for doing so. Very impressive little, quick read. Perfect for readers who don’t have much time for longer novels. A well deserved four out of five stars.
