Blurb; The festive season isn’t always happy for Tori Spring and her brother Charlie. And this year’s going to be harder than most.
I used to think that difficult was better than boring, but I know better now…
I’m not going to think about the past few months, about Charlie and me, and all of the sad. I’m going to block it all out Just for today.
“Happy Christmas, ” I say.
My Review; Did you love the Heartstopper graphic novels? Are you a fan of Charlie & Nick? Then this is a perfect short novella for you… Christmas. Tori (Charlie’s sister). Nick & family. Illustrated throughout, an easy festive read with the characters we have come to adore. However, it may not be quite the perfect Christmas Charlie hoped for while he still struggles with his eating disorder.
I could read about these characters all day. Beautiful story. Beautiful bonds. Loved it. Going to miss these lot. A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend.
Blurb; Charlie didn’t think Nick could ever like him back, but now they’re officially boyfriends. Charlie’s beginning to feel ready to say those three little words: I love you.
Nick’s been feeling the same, but he’s got a lot on his mind – not least coming out to his dad, and the fact that Charlie might have an eating disorder.
As summer turns to autumn and a new school year begins, Charlie and Nick are about to learn a lot about what love means.
Heartstopper is about love, friendship, loyalty and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie’s lives that together make up something larger, which speaks to all of us.
This is the fourth volume of Heartstopper, which has now been optioned for television by See-Saw Films.
My Review; With thanks to Melanie’s Reads for getting me my copy. I will keep this one short & sweet. I have been with Charlie & Nick since the beginning and I just love them both so much! How good was this volume? I got it. I loved it. I finished it in an hour. Typical. Now the wait for volume five. Sigh. This does contain mental health issues and eating disorders. But what a beautiful installment into the lives of Charlie & Nick. I don’t think I will ever got bored of these two. Gorgeous graphic novel. Perfection! Beautiful. Adored. Highly recommend. A well deserved five stars from me.
Blurb; In this volume we’ll see the Heartstopper gang go on a school trip to Paris! Not only are Nick and Charlie navigating a new city, but also telling more people about their relationship AND learning more about the challenges each other are facing in private…
Meanwhile Tao and Elle will face their feelings for each other, Tara and Darcy share more about their relationship origin story, and the teachers supervising the trip seem… rather close…?
My Review; Yay. Volume 3. This one is different, again it focuses on Charlie and Nicks relationship but with a twist. This time they go on a school trip together in France. It’s still about coming out and love. But this has a much happier ending. The teachers aboard the trip gave me a shock too, didn’t expect that. Many of their friends already know about their relationship and are suppportive but there is still the bullies to deal with and accept it. This volume also deal with an eating disorder.
They really are brilliant, easy reads. With beautiful illustrations throughout. I think the whole meaning behind it is about love can conquer all. You matter. Don’t worry about others. It had me smiling all the way through I love them both (Nick and Charlie). A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend. Now I’ve got a long wait till next year for volume four, unless I read it online. Sigh.
