*BLOG BLITZ* No Time to Die – Andrew Barrett ★★★★

Blurb; When CSI Eddie Collins finds a dead woman in his house, he thinks life can’t get any worse, until a violent gang ties his hands together and puts a gun to his head. And this time there’s no way out.

Operation Domino is the investigation into gang boss, Slade Crosby, and his connection to an undercover officer’s death. But tampered evidence kills the investigation’s progress, and with Eddie gone, Slade is in the clear.

There’s only one way to get Slade in cuffs, but it won’t be easy…

My Review; This title was previously published as Black by Rose. No Time to Die is book number two in the Eddie Collins series, best read in order but would still read okay as a standalone. This book is much shorter than book one, thankfully… But another belter of a story.

I can see this series is growing stronger and better with each book. It was nice to be back with the familiar characters and hooked into another brilliant story. Another page turner which you can lose yourself in. Gripping, thrilling, suspense filled. This book gets a little more personal for Eddie Collins… I CANT WAIT to continue this series and see what happens in book three.

This series is shaping up to be brilliant! Fast paced and easy to devour. A well deserved four stars, a series I would recommend to you all! A series that I am throughly enjoying. You’re bound to love it too.

*BLOG BLITZ* The Third Rule – Andrew Barrett ★★★★

Blurb; When you’re accused of murder, you’d better hide, run, or fight.
The Third Rule is England’s new infallible capital punishment. But absolute proof of guilt is no longer required, so there’s a queue at the Slaughter House doors.
CSI Eddie Collins hasn’t killed anyone, but he knows who has. That’s why he’s on the Slaughter House list, and when a government hunter tracks him down, Eddie has to fight or die.
“If you want to kill serious crime, you have to kill serious criminals.”
Sir George Deacon, Minster of Justice.

My Review; The Third Rule is book number one in the upcoming Eddie Collins series. Now I must admit at just over 600 pages long it felt a little daunting as I don’t usually read thick books due to not much time. However, it didn’t take me as long as I thought to finish it.

Firstly, I found the opening to the story very rushed, introducing all the characters and their stories all at once which was a bit overwhelming at first. However, the story then slows into each characters story making it clearer for the reader to understand.

The Third Rule is action packed with drugs, crime, politics and death. I found myself slowly getting absorbed into the story and I was hooked after a while. I raced through it. In the end I enjoyed the story and look forward to the rest of this series.

This is a book that will most likely split the readers views about ‘the third rule’. I do understand the concept of the third rule but I wouldn’t say I was for it as many people can be framed for crime and killings leading to false imprisonment. On the other hand I do believe it would work for certain types of criminals, would deter criminals and as a result we would see the level of crime drop drastically.

I awarded a fair four stars and would highly recommend this book! But I did warn you it was a long book.. Other than that a perfect story I was caught up in. Bring on book two!
