Blurb; A BOOK TO BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY – A GIFT OF HOPE, COMFORT, POSITIVITY, OPENNESS AND LOVE FOR ANY OCCASION – INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES FROM THE TFL UNDERGOUND DUO

Transport for London employees and dynamic masked duo, All on the Board (aka Jeremy and Ian), made it their mission to bring smiles to the faces of London commuters through writing creative messages, quotes and poems on the underground’s service information boards. ‘We were tired of looking at a board that just said “keep right” and thought can’t we do something a bit more fun?’.

Fast-forward 3 years, they’ve grown a community of 750,000+ online fans and have a plethora of celebrity supporters. Through their magical words, they’ve marked momentous occasions, celebrated countless artists, legends and heroes, raised awareness of mental health and hidden illnesses and sprinkled thousands of our daily journeys with positivity, humour and love. Their kind messages remind us all that we’re in it together and now, with their beautiful, colourful collection of quotes, stories and drawings you can add joy to your day wherever you are and however you’re feeling.

CHAPTERS INCLUDE: Positively Positive, Raising Awareness, Love, Always Remembered, Random Pleasures & Simple Treasures, Mental Health, Legends, Real Life Heroes, Occasions & Celebrations, London, In It Together

My Review; Imagine my surprise seeing this for 99p on Kindle. Now I didn’t even know these guys did a book. It’s one of those things where I see certain signs on Facebook that people have shared and relate with. A bit of good in this world. This book includes many signs tackling a whole range of topics. An easy read. Some great advice, quotes and thoughts have been put into these signs. I love how we get to know about the two guys behind it all too and how they wish to remain anonymous.

Would highly recommend. These two guys have started something which has become huge. Everyone can relate to. Loved it! A well deserved five stars from me.

The Comfort Book – Matt Haig ★★★★

Blurb; A small book for anyone in search of hope, looking for a path to a more meaningful life, or in need of encouragement.

Happiness occurs when you forget who you’re expected to be. And what you’re expected to do. Happiness is an accident of self-acceptance. It’s the warm breeze you feel when you open the door to who you are.

Years ago, Matt Haig began writing notes to his future self. These notes were meant as gifts to his future self: offerings of hope to help himself through anything from the darkest periods of his life to a not-so-great day. As time went on, he added new thoughts and stories, and he turned them into The Comfort Book so that everyone could draw on this well of reassurance and encouragement. Each of its short meditations gives a new perspective on life and all of its highs and lows–small islands of hope for anyone looking for a more fulfilling, more uplifting way through life. Incorporating a diverse array of sources from across the world, history, science, and his own experiences, Haig offers warmth and reassurance, reminding us to slow down and appreciate the beauty and unpredictability of existence.

My Review; Absolutely love Matts books and this was the same. It’s a book full of hope, quotes, stories and thoughts on everything we experience throughout life whether that’s death, birth, trauma, emotions, suicide, drugs, alcohol, depression or illness. This book covers it all. Some chapters are really short while others are longer but it’s an easy read. One that’s suppose to help the reader no matter their current mindset.

He speaks truth. He’s honest. Raw. I just love him. A book everyone should read at some point in their life. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me.
