*BLOG BLITZ* Broken – Betsy Reavley ★★★★

Blurb; Annabel, a troubled young woman trying to put her life back together, decides to take a trip to the Suffolk coast to clear her head and get away from her mother. But when she arrives in the little seaside town, she discovers a series of grisly murders have taken place and police are searching for a twisted killer.

After a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger, Jude, the course of her life changes and soon she finds peace in a world away from the misery she has known.

But when Jude comes under suspicion from the police, and her idyllic world is threatened, Annabel’s happy existence starts to become a nightmare.

Can Annabel escape her painful past or is her fate sealed? And why is she haunted by horrific visions when she seems on the verge of finding happiness?

This astonishing novel will take you on a shattering journey through Annabel’s fight for survival and will ask if the greatest threat we pose is to ourselves.

My Review; Happy Publication Day. This book comes with a warning for over 18s only… What did I just read? What the hell. Messed with my mind. This has to be Betsys darkest and best story yet. I got to a point where I nearly put the book down it was that grim, twisted and dark. But ofcourse I had to keep on reading to see what happened.

I managed to read most of this in a day. At first I was like ahhh this ain’t so bad enjoying the book, but then towards the end it turned into pure horror and torture. It was so descriptive and dark that it made me feel sick and turned my stomach..

Broken is brilliantly written and highlights how much mental health can mess you up and take you to the darkest of places. A book you feel bad for enjoying as this has to be the darkest, twisted and grim book I have read ever. I think I need time to get over reading this one. Luckily I didn’t have any nightmares! But my gosh, a book you cannot forget.

I awarded a well deserved four stars and would highly recommend. However, you have been warned about how dark and grim this book really is, a hard read towards the end. A story that will have you talking about it and thinking about it afterwards, its unique and different to each and every reader… Which I think is bloody brilliant. Clever. Well played Betsy.

*BLOG BLITZ* Murder in the Dark – Betsy Reavley ★★★★

Blurb; Without a motive, how do you identify the killer?

Imagine a quaint little bookshop. Outside the snow is falling. Inside the shelves are stacked with books by authors waiting to be discovered. What could be better?

When Tilly Edgely lands a position working at Ashton’s bookshop in Cambridge she thinks she’s found her perfect job. But one winter’s morning, when she arrives to open up, she discovers the body of her boss suspended from the ceiling, hanging by a rope around his neck.

DCI Barrett and DI Palmer are called to the scene and quickly find themselves searching for a twisted killer whose identity and motive are nearly impossible to trace.

But just when they think they have the murderer in their sights, another body shows up throwing the case wide open…

Who is behind the killings and why?

The police have their work cut out and key to unlocking the gruesome mystery might be found right under their nose.

But one thing is for certain, this killer will leave you hanging…

My Review; What an opening this book has! Wooooweeee! This book is bound to draw you in. Now I must admit I haven’t got round to reading Murder in the Book Club yet but this reads perfectly fine as a standalone with only a few references to the previous book. Don’t worry I will be going back to read it at some point, I promise.

I throughally enjoyed reading this one. Not your average murder, killing story. Different. Unique. Watch out the book community you’re not safe either. A fast paced, page turner of a read. Brilliantly written. A story you don’t want to put down. I could easily have read this in one sitting if life didn’t get in the way.

I did feel sorry for Tilly having to deal with what she saw, that would be hard for anyone. Highly recommend! A brilliant brilliant. A well deserved four stars.

*BLOG BLITZ* Pressure – Betsy Reavley ★★★★★

Blurb; When the submarine departed, none of the ten people on board knew it would turn into a nightmare.

Trapped on the sunken vessel and unable to escape, one of them is discovered dead. The tension escalates as the survivors realise there is a murderer among them, who is preparing to strike again and again…

With mounting desperation, people begin to turn on each other. While they struggle to identify who is responsible, each must contend with their own past and the secrets they are hiding.

But who is who? And which of them will be next to die?

My Review; WOW. WOW WOW. This is a must buy and must read. Pressure is going straight into my top 20 of 2018. Bloody brilliant! Cannot top that story… A well deserved five stars. Wow. Will not forget that story in a hurry.. I am seriously impressed and want to rave about this book. BUY IT! You will not regret it.

I have not read anything similar to this story before and I loved every minute of it! A real who dunnit with a twist. It had suspense all the way through which kept me hooked and wide eyed. A brilliantly written and clever story line… A unbelievable cliff hanger.. Many twists, turns and dark chapters lie ahead! Parts are a little brutal and made my stomach clench including child abuse scenes.

I would highly recommend this story to you all. Outstanding. I loved how there was a little map of the layout of the submarine in the front of the book and how the story was told through each character and how they ended up in their position… Do you think you can solve who the killer is? I didn’t and the outcome had my jaw dropping and shocked! I would love for this story to be turned into a film, I’d watch it. Well done Betsy!

Soo… Did I love this book?
