*BLOG TOUR* Heartcross Castle – Christie Barlow ★★★★

Blurb; Love Heart Lane – where friends are there for you no matter what

A second chance…

When her grandfather Marley passes away Grace Power discovers she’s been left the beautiful but crumbling estate of Heartcross Castle. As a single mum of three, Grace has no idea what she’s going to do with it – but who can say no to a roof over their kids’ heads and a chance to get away from past hurts?

And a forever home

Heartcross Castle is full of secrets – especially a lost security deposit box that holds the truth to everything… But when celebrity chef Andrew Glossop sets his eyes on the castle and, to make matters worse, mistakes Grace as the new housekeeper, Grace tells him there is absolutely NO CHANCE he is getting his hands on her home.

Devastated to have got it so wrong, Andrew will do anything to make it up to her – but is she willing to listen?

My Review; This is the first book I have read by this author and I need to start by saying this is book seven in the love heart lane series. Now it did read fine as a Standalone for myself but would probably be best read in order. With a few mentions of places from previous books and probably some familiar characters too.

Heartcross Castle is such a cosy, uplifting, romantic and heart warming read. It’s a story of a new beginning, a second chance. Coming home. I loved all the characters in this story, especially the community spirit and friendships. Parts had me laughing out loud. The ending was just perfect. I don’t have a bad word to say.

Main character Grace is such a strong, determined, brave and independent character. She won’t let anything stop her happiness or her boys happiness. I loved her. Then bring in rich Chef Andrew will they clash and collide? How will she deal with him when she’s surviving on pennies?

A beautiful story. Perfect setting, gorgeous castle and a cute town. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me. Cannot wait to go back through this series and see where it takes me. Very impressed.

*BLOG TOUR* Foxglove Farm – Christie Barlow ★★★★

Blurb; Return to Love Heart Lane for friendship, romance and a community who will be be there for you no matter what…

Isla and Drew Allaway appear to have the perfect life – a strong marriage, two beautiful children and their picture-perfect home, Foxglove Farm.

But, new mum Isla is struggling. She loves her little family but with Drew working all hours on the farm, Isla’s lonely.

When she discovers that Drew has been keeping secrets from her, Isla has to face losing the home they all love.
Can the Love Heart Lane community pull together once more to help save Foxglove Farm? And can Isla save her home…and her marriage?

My Review; Foxglove Farm is book two in the Love Heart Lane series, but reads well as a standalone. I must admit I have book one but haven’t read it. So I am not familiar with these characters or the town, I came into this book with fresh eyes.

Awwh. What another cute, lovely and beautiful town to wander into. The community all pulls together and are a friendly lot. Isla is a lovely woman trying her best, with a lovely family and farm to run with her husband and two children.

I must say its all a bit doom and gloom in this story mostly, but it shows peoples willingness, helpfullness and passion to work together, so there is a plus side. As I haven’t read the first book I will guess that the first book was more upbeat?

All relationships have their up and downs that’s a given but for most of this story it’s all down… Except it goes back up towards the end. Uplifting towards the end, faith restored. This story holds a hidden message, that no matter how hard times get and relationships things can get better and will get better.

A well deserved four stars from me. I cannot wait to go back and read book one now (Love Heart Lane). Highly recommend. I throughally enjoyed reading this one. A beautiful cover too. Love a good cover. A perfect, happy ending.
