*BLOG BLITZ* The Doomsday Girl – Dave Stanton ★★★★

Blurb; Melanie Jordan’s life seemed perfect.

Until masked intruders arrive at her house, demanding gold she doesn’t have. A savage blow to the head puts her in a coma for four weeks. When Melanie regains consciousness, she learns her husband has been murdered and her ten-year-old daughter is missing.

Private Eye Dan Reno begins investigating, but nothing about the case makes sense. Was there gold at the house or wasn’t there? Was Melanie’s husband hiding something? And what happened to Melanie’s daughter?

To complicate things, the case leads to Las Vegas, where Reno’s loose-cannon buddy, Cody Gibbons, is trying to repair his relationship with his college-aged daughter, an intern with Las Vegas P.D.

When clues implicate Russian mobsters and a mysterious African illegal, Reno tries to stay in the shadows, but once the crooks feel the noose tightening, they raise the stakes to a deadly level.

And then, as they say in Vegas, all bets are off.

My Review; Happy Publication Day! The Doomsday Girl is book six in the brilliant Dan Reno series and is the final chapter, I am sad to have finished this series. It does read well as a standalone but would recommend reading the series in order.

Dan and Cody are back for their final case, could this be their toughest case yet? Will Dan be able to find the missing ten year old dead or alive? A brilliant, action packed, explosive ending for this series. They say qgo out with a bang and Dave certainly did that for the reader.

A cleverly written story, I found myself getting lost into this case and beside Dan wanting to help. I found the Doomsday Girl an easy and fast paced read even when it does contain long chapters. I have loved reading this series as a whole, something different within each book which keot this series refreshing. I would highly recommend to you all. Another well deserved four stars. A brilliant cliffhanger of an ending to, leaving the reader to finish the story for themselves. Loved it.

*BLOG BLITZ* Hard Prejudice – Dave Stanton ★★★★

Blurb; The DNA evidence should have made the rape a slam dunk case…

But after the evidence disappeared from a police locker, the black man accused of brutally raping a popular actor’s daughter walked free. Hired by the actor, private eye Dan Reno’s job seemed simple enough: discover who took the DNA, and why. Problem is, from the beginning of the investigation, neither Reno, the South Lake Tahoe police, nor anyone else have any idea what the motivation could be to see ghetto thug Duante Tucker get away with the crime. Not even Reno’s best friend, fellow investigator Cody Gibbons, has a clue.

When Reno and Gibbons tail Tucker, they learn the rapist is linked to various criminals and even a deserter from the U.S. Marine Corps. But they still can’t tell who would want him set free, and for what reason?

Things get murkier when Tucker visits an Arabic restaurant whose owners are suspected terrorists. Then Cody’s ex-boss, a San Jose police captain, is found to be dallying with Tucker’s sister.

The clues continue to build until Reno and Cody find themselves targeted for death. That tells Reno he’s getting close, so he and Gibbons put the pedal to the metal. The forces of evil are running out of time, and the action reaches a boiling point before an explosive conclusion that reveals a sinister plot and motivations that Reno never imagined.

My Review; Happy Publication Day! Hard Prejudice is book five in the brilliant Dan Reno series. I have been enjoying this series from the start and would highly recommend this whole series to you all. This series is best read in order.

It was great to be back in Dan’s world alongside Cody working with him aswell. Its been fun watching them both work and grow together throughout the series. Will they catch the rapist? Fast paced, thrilling story. Loved reading this one. It does contain long chapters though! It is a tough story to read in certain parts, with dark scenes as the story is dealing with a rape… Nevertheless, I still enjoyed reading this story and look forward to the final chapter of this series.

*BLOG BLITZ* Dark Ice – Dave Stanton ★★★★

Blurb; Two murdered girls, and no motive…

While skiing deep in Lake Tahoe’s backcountry, private detective Dan Reno finds the first naked body, buried under fresh snow. Reno’s contacted by the grieving father, who wants to know who murdered his daughter, and why? And how could the body end up in such a remote, mountainous location? The questions become murkier when a second body is found. Is there a serial killer stalking promiscuous young women in South Lake Tahoe? Or are the murders linked to a different criminal agenda?

Searching for answers, Reno is accosted by a gang of racist bikers with a score to settle. He also must deal with his pal, Cody Gibbons, who the police consider a suspect. The clues lead to the owner of a strip club and a womanizing police captain, but is either the killer?

The bikers up the ante, but are unaware that Cody Gibbons has Reno’s back at any cost. Meanwhile, the police won’t tolerate Reno’s continued involvement in the case. But Reno knows he’s getting close. And the most critical clue comes from the last person he’d suspect.

My Review; This is book four in the brilliant Dan Reno series I would suggest this series is best read in order as it does make references to previous books in the series.

Yet again I loved and enjoyed reading this story. I am really liking Dan’s character and how nothing at all will phase him or overcome him he will always get the case solved with a little help from Cody. Dark Ice is a fast paced thriller which will keep the reader in suspense until the end… I loved the setting of this story, set in winter with snow and skiing!

I did find that the chapters were long but I devoured this story and cannot wait to read book five. I would highly recommend this series to you all. I am loving it. I also love all the covers of this series and how they all match.
