*BLOG BLITZ* Standstill – J.A. Marley ★★★★

Blurb; One man’s chaos is another man’s comfort zone…

When young, ambitious thief, Danny Felix, is dragged out of bed by a psychotic cop in an early morning raid, he could hardly imagine he was about to be plunged into the robbery of a lifetime.

Corruption and coercion follow the very bent Detective Inspector Harkness everywhere he goes and now he has Danny by the proverbial balls.

But even the deadliest criminals leave a trail, one that dedicated Flying Squad officer Christine Chance is getting closer to, while trying her best to be mother to a seriously ill daughter.

Can Danny escape Harkness with his life intact? Can he avoid detection by Chance?

And most importantly does he have what it takes to use the teeming streets of modern day London to pull off the theft of the 21st Century?

Danny thinks he can…but there will be bloodshed.

My Review; Standstill is well written, easy to read and fast paced. It is a gripping story throughout which builds up into an explosive finale. Detective Chance is busy trying her hardest to crack the case but she also has her own personal problems to attend too during the case. I actually felt so sorry for how much Detective Chance went through.

Danny’s character is full of arrogance, power and he thinks he can get away with anything… But can he? This story is sure to keep you on your toes and one I highly recommend you all read. It was like reading something out of an action film! Brilliant. I enjoyed reading this story. I awarded four stars.

*BLOG TOUR* Game Point – Malcolm Hollingdrake ★★★★★

DCI Bennett faces the most harrowing case of his career. A psychopath, who escaped capture, is hell bent on revenge and executes a series of events that will not only impact on Bennett physically, but will have emotional and professional consequences.

A body is found with its fingers amputated, then an investigative journalist, embroiled in the pornography and drugs scene, is murdered. Bennett’s team is faced with some baffling evidence. Hatpins and bicycle spokes become pivotal to the inquiry but the police struggle to connect the evidence. It is only when a Detective Sergeant from the team is kidnapped that Bennett realises that he is the true target.

Can Bennett solve the case before it’s too late? How many people will he lose in the process?
