*BLOG TOUR* Christmas At Aunt Elsie’s – Emily Harvale ★★★★

Blurb; A distant relative. A blizzard. A Christmas of surprises.

Lottie Short isn’t looking forward to Christmas. Her boyfriend has dumped her and she’s also lost her job. Lottie and her beloved spaniel, Merry, are facing the festive season – and a bleak future, alone.

But a Christmas card and round-robin letter give Lottie hope. And as the first snowflakes fall, she’s on her way to the tiny seaside village of Seahorse Harbour to visit her distant aunt. She’ll stay in a cosy B&B and get some bracing, sea air. That might lift her spirits.

What she doesn’t plan for is a blizzard, her aunt taking a fall, or the dramas unfolding all around her. But at least there’s a warm welcome at Aunt Elsie’s cottage … and a roaring log fire in the village pub.

That’s not all that might bring a rosy glow to Lottie’s cheeks. Asher Bryant, the local vet is pretty hot, and Lottie also hits it off with another visitor to Seahorse Harbour. This festive season might be better than she hoped.

And when Lottie gets more than one surprise this Christmas, perhaps she and Merry won’t be spending the New Year on their own.

My Review; After reading Summer At My Sister’s this was a must read for me. Same town. Same people. But a newbie with a different story, Christmas and snow thrown in too. One to cosy up with. Christmas & romance for me make a brilliant read and this was spot on. A light, cheery read with a little drama. Short chapters, friendly characters and a beautiful little town. This also contains a little dog called Merry making it even better!

I loved it all! Really enjoyed it! Think I’ve fallen in love with Ashers character too oops. I hope there is more to come from this standalone series and little town. Will make you smile. The ending was perfect! Felt like returning to friends and home. A well deserved five stars from me. Highly recommend. Got me in the festive spirit and wanting snow!

*BLOG TOUR* Summer at my Sister’s – Emily Harvale ★★★★

Blurb; Twin sisters. One scorching summer. A bucketful of secrets.

Diana’s life is perfect. Her twin sister, Josie’s – not so much. But when secrets are revealed this summer, everything will change.

Diana has a rich and successful husband, two talented youngsters and an adorable dog. She always looks as if she’s stepped from the cover of a magazine. Her immaculate second home by the sea, for idyllic summers with her perfect family, was actually featured in one.

Josie has a messy, compact flat, dates, but not relationships, and she can’t even keep a houseplant alive. She moves from job to job, goes clubbing with her friends and often looks as if she’s fallen through a hedge.

Although Josie loves Diana deeply, each year she declines the invitation to spend the summer with her sister. Or any other family holiday. Because Josie has a secret.

But is Diana’s life so perfect? Or is she also hiding something? When secrets are revealed this summer, everything will change. Josie could finally have the life she’s always wanted … if she’s brave enough to take a chance.

My Review; This was brilliant. This is just what I needed a genre change. I spent a lovely Sunday curled up with this book, I just love Emilys stories and this was no exception. It was refreshing. A break away from my mind.

I loved the setting, the characters, the community and the fabulous happy ending for everyone. It’s funny in parts and I fell in love with Josies humour and sarcasm. I loved it all. Plenty of hot men to keep me distracted too. A perfect chick-lit, romance and summer read. Made me happy and smile. Need to shout out Noahs character too, what a charming young man and a hero. Loved him. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me.

*BLOG TOUR* Wedding Bells in Merriment Bay – Emily Harvale ★★★★

Blurb; Change is in the air as wedding bells ring out in Merriment Bay.
Cat’s determined to propose to Amias. Well, it is a leap year so it’s fine for women to do the asking, and besides, it took him eighteen years to tell her how he felt. She’s not going to wait for him to pop the question. All she needs to do is find the perfect time and place.
Kyra’s fallen for Francis Raine, who seems happy to flirt and exchange banter but hasn’t actually asked her out. Does he reciprocate her feelings, or is he this way with every girl he meets? There’s only one way to find out. She’ll ask him on a date … as soon as he returns to Merriment Bay.
Mary’s leaving Devon Villa after a lifetime spent in the house. She’s never lived alone so it’s both an exciting and a terrifying prospect. But change is good, isn’t it? Perhaps it’s time she tried a few other new things too.
The Devon women want to move on to the next chapters in their lives. And as Viola Devon used to say before she died, “The only one who can write your own life story as you want it, is you.” Although Viola’s didn’t work out too well. Will Cat, Kyra, and Mary have better luck with theirs?

My Review; I’ve read a lot by Emily Harvale and I love them. They’re shortish stories that you can just lose yourself into. Cute little towns with great communities full of stories. This was no different. This is book three in the Merriment Bay series but reads well as a standalone.

This book is full of romance, proposals, marriages and babies. All of it! We get several happy endings in this story instead of one. There may be a lot going on in Merriment Bay but they’re not all trying to beat each other or battle it out. They’re all supporting each other and just want their happy endings. I’ve fallen in love with Merriment Bay. Full of happy stories, friendship, family and love.

A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend. They’re all stories that make you smile and feel like your part of the town and the characters are your friends. Beautiful.
