*BLOG TOUR* Christmas at the Little Waffle Shack – Helen J. Rolfe. ★★★★

Blurb; Heritage Cove is in full swing for the festive season and as the temperature dips, who will be lucky in love this Christmas?

It’s December in Heritage Cove and along with the village Christmas tree, frosty mornings and the promise of the most wonderful time of the year, the new waffle shack is about to open. And its owner isn’t a stranger to the Cove, because after all this time, Daniel is back to make amends with his brother Harvey – as well as a few other locals he might have offended along the way.

Fairly new to the village, local blacksmith Lucy has kept up the pretence of being with her ex for the sake of his gran but she’s fed up with all the lies. Determined to come clean and live the life she wants to live, she’s devastated to find that her attraction to Daniel is tainted by the fact he’s hiding a few things of his own. And his secrets are ones she isn’t sure she’ll ever be able to get past.

Heritage Cove is full of friendship and community; it’s a welcoming place people visit and never want to leave. But will it work its magic for Daniel and Lucy?

My Review; This is a beautiful, romance and christmassy read. Perfect to cosy up with during these dark, cold nights on the run up to Christmas. It is book two in the Heritage Cove series but both can be read as standalone. This was just perfect. A heartwarming, uplifting and happy ending for all. Two newcomers to the Cove town… Lucy and Daniel. Hmm. Daniel is a bit of a dark horse at first, but I loved them both.

A beautiful little town. This book has its fair share of drama, family disagreements, haunting pasts and secrets being unravelled. But it also has plenty of surprises, romances, new beginnings, community spirit and friendships. I loved it all. It’s a story that made me dribble with hunger for waffles myself. Yummy. Yummy. Perfect setting. Absolutely loved it all! Devoured it in less than 24 hours. Beautifully written. Easy, festive and fun read.

A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend.

*BLOG TOUR* The Little Village Library – Helen Rolfe ★★★★

Blurb; It takes a village…

Cloverdale is known for its winding roads, undulating hills and colourful cottages, and more recently, its Library of Shared Things. Need a ladder, a hedge trimmer or a waffle-maker? You can borrow it from the Library of Shared Things.

Single dad Adam is doing a good job of raising his daughter, Zoe, whilst burying his past and moving forwards. When he agrees to run a mending workshop at the Library, new friendships start to blossom.

Jennifer is a volunteer at the Library. When her younger sister Isla moves back to Cloverdale after their mother dies, Jennifer finds herself wondering whether Isla is hiding something.

And when Adam’s daughter Zoe makes a startling discovery, it’s time for the people at the Library of Shared Things to pull together and help one family with its biggest challenge of all.

My Review; Happy Publication Day! Cloverdale is a cute little village, full of friendly neighbours and friends. When Adam and his two children arrive in the town they settle in nicely, make friends and feel at home… BUT… There’s a secret Adam brings with him that could change everything and where is the childrens mother? Hmmmm.

I enjoyed reading this one. The way it is written and told so you’re assuming the worse when actually towards the end it makes you feel bad. Ooops. Well it did for me. I got it totally wrong. Poor Adam. What a lovely man. Seems to perfect bless him. The end gets a bit emotional and teary but a brilliant, uplifting and inspiring story after all.

A well deserved four stars from me. Loved the town and characters. Highly recommend. When you live in a small town nothing stays secret for long. I’d love to live in Cloverdale and loved the idea of the shared library. Brilliant.
