Blurb; The Inheritance Games ended with a bombshell, and now heiress Avery Grambs has to pick up the pieces and find the man who might hold the answers to all of her questions – including why Tobias Hawthorne left his entire fortune to Avery, a virtual stranger, rather than to his own daughters or grandsons.
As the mystery grows and the plot thickens, Grayson and Jameson, the enigmatic and magnetic Hawthorne grandsons, continue to pull Avery in different directions. And there are threats lurking around every corner, as adversaries emerge who will stop at nothing to see Avery out of the picture – by any means necessary.
My Review; It’s been a while since I have been active so bare with me while I get back into reviewing. I read this last month as a buddy read with Mel from Melanie’s Reads. After loving book one so much I had to see what lay ahead in book two and boy I was not disappointed. Personally I think this was miles better than book one and it left me wanting more… Hurry up book three.
This series is best read in order. It is mysterious. Thrilling. Fast paced and will have you turning the pages for fun we both agreed we absolutely loved it! Would highly recommend this series to you all, one not to be missed. A well deserved five stars from me. One I will remember for a long time.
Whose team are you on? I’m sure after this book you’ll change your mind (like Mel did). Ha.
Blurb; Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship, and get out. But her fortunes change in an instant when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why–or even who Tobias Hawthorne is. To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man’s touch–and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes.
Unfortunately for Avery, Hawthorne House is also occupied by the family that Tobias Hawthorne just dispossessed. This includes the four Hawthorne grandsons: dangerous, magnetic, brilliant boys who grew up with every expectation that one day, they would inherit billions. Heir apparent Grayson Hawthorne is convinced that Avery must be a con-woman, and he’s determined to take her down. His brother, Jameson, views her as their grandfather’s last hurrah: a twisted riddle, a puzzle to be solved. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive.
My Review; With thanks to Pigeonhole for letting me reading this one another recommend to me by fellow blogger Mel at Melanie’s read. One I absolutely loved! Highly recommend. I am over the moon to know there’s going to be a book two! Cause that ending was a huge cliffhanger! I want answers…
This book is soo bloody clever from start to finish. When Avery finds herself the benefitor of a strangers will her life is about to change forever. This isn’t just any will its the will of a very rich man who likes to play games. The catch? She has to live in his huge house for one year to benefit. The whole house is one big puzzle from secret tunnels/passages to the Hawthorne family themselves.
Let the games begin. Literally everything is a game to this man and family and at times it gets too much, deadly. Secrets become uncovered and Avery doesn’t know who she can trust anymore. It’s a fast paced, page turner of a read and would make a brilliant film or series. Highly recommend.. I cannot wait for book two already. A well deserved four stars from me.
