*BLOG BLITZ* Anonymity – John Nicholl ★★★★★

Blurb; When Mia, a successful novelist, is targeted by a stalker, her life begins to unravel.

Unaware that the predatory psychopath has placed cameras in her home, the stalker sends untraceable emails, including photos of her and her four-year-old daughter, demanding Mia performs outlandish tasks, threatening dire consequences if she refuses or approaches the police.

As the pressure builds, Adam, Mia’s sister’s boyfriend, offers to accompany her to stay in Italy with her parents. But when the villa is burnt down, Mia fears the stalker has followed her and decides to return to Wales.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating the murder of three women in the area, and when DI Gravel’s daughter is threatened, he takes matters into his own hands.

With his health failing and his career coming to an end, just how far will Gravel go to protect his daughter and catch a vicious killer?

My Review; Oh My Goodness. This was bloody brilliant. Dark, grim, disturbing and twisted. Parts of this book are not for the faint hearted, even made my stomach turn at parts.

That ending was a total jaw dropper, unexpected. Anonymity will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. You will be secretly shouting at Mia to wake up, see what’s right in front of her. Thrilling, gripping and brilliant. Enjoyed this one.

Brilliantly written, fast paced and a page turner of a read. A well deserved five stars from me. Highly recommend! Johns story have never let me down yet and this was no exception. Brilliant author. Brilliant stories.

*BLOG BLITZ* Before I Met Him – John Nicholl ★★★★★

Blurb; Every once in a while the hunters become the hunted…

When Rebecca’s childhood abuser avoids prosecution, it sets her on a path to revenge and soon she is handing out retribution on any man who preys on the innocent.

The twenty-three-year-old poses as a child online and sets her trap, luring one predatory sex offender after another to their deaths.

When a severed head is found washed up on a windswept estuary beach, DI Gravel and his team are called in to investigate.

In what might be his toughest case yet, DI Gravel finds himself asking if vigilante justice is ever justified…

My Review; This story was previously published as Mind to Kill. Now I have read every book so far by John and he has not let me down yet. And yet again… he has written another belter of a book! I would go as far to say this one is his best one yet!

Now this story focuses on an issue you and I have probably seen a lot of on social media recently especially Facebook! Sexual predators and peadophiles. Now this may not be a subject some readers want to read or enjoy. However, it is a cleverly written story.

It highlights how angry and determimed Rebecca was due to the unexpected outcome of her child abuser. She wants to take back some control! Parts of this story are dark and gritty but it is a brilliant read! A fast paced, page turner and thrilling.

I’ve awarded a well deserved five stars and would highly recommend it to you all. John is an author whose work I am loving, each and everyone I have enjoyed and loved.. I already look forward to the next book!

*BLOG BLITZ* Portraits of the Dead – John Nicholl ★★★★★

Blurb; Emma didn’t know how long he hid in the large Victorian wardrobe to the side of her single bed. She didn’t know how long he peered between the two heavy oak doors, and watched, as she slowly drifted into fitful sleep. She didn’t know what time he pushed the doors open and crept towards her in the darkness of the night.

Detective Inspector Gravel finds himself faced with a difficult case when a local nineteen-year-old university student is abducted and imprisoned by a sadistic serial killer, who has already tortured and killed at least five young women.

Can Gravel find the girl and stop the murderer?

He will learn that the greater the evil, the deadlier the game…

My Review; This has to be one of John’s darkest stories yet! It actually gave me a nightmare. Legit. Parts of this story are so dark, gruesome and intense. A story that will have you on the edge of your seat and biting your finger nails. A brilliant cover too, even if I am petrified of clowns.

Portraits of the Dead is a fast paced, easy to read and terrifying thriller! This has to be one of the most twisted serial killers I’ve read about it. I felt so sorry for Emma! Will the team find her before its too late? Chilling. 5 stars. Highly recommend…

One to read with the light on and not alone in the dark before bed!
