*BLOG TOUR* Finding Grace – K.L. Slater ★★★★★

Blurb; This morning, my daughter sat right here, munching her breakfast, too excited to finish it. Now, she is missing.

The day after her ninth birthday, Lucie and Blake Sullivan agree, for the very first time, to let their daughter, Grace, make the four-minute walk back home alone from a friend’s house just down the street.

They joke with friends about hiding behind bushes to ensure she is safe. But the joke turns sour when Grace does not appear.

Despite the best efforts of the police and local community, Grace seems to have vanished into thin air. With hope fading fast, Lucie knows she can rely on her husband to support her through such dark times. That is until the day she makes a shocking discovery, hidden in Blake’s desk, and suddenly she begins to doubt everything she knew about the man she married.

But Lucie harbours a terrible secret of her own. One that she has never shared with anyone, even Blake …

And as the search for Grace reaches fever pitch, Lucie receives a terrifying message. If she is ever to see Grace again, Lucie has no choice but to face the past she tried hard to bury forever. And she must do it alone.

My Review; Wow. Where do I even begin with this review? This is every parents worst nightmare their child going missing. It was a rollercoaster of a read, just when you thought you knew one thing… Along comes the next lie, twist or secret to knock you off your feet.

I felt sorry for both parents throughout it is the worse possible thing that could happen to any parent. I did have my suspicions about some characters at the beginning of the story but ofcourse… They were wrong. The story does flick back to Lucies (Graces mother) past while she goes off to university but is set out clearly and doesn’t get the reader confused.

A really clever story that will knock you down again and again with each twist and turn. There are some very devious, twisted and nasty characters in this story which come to light more towards the end. The ending was perfect for me. A real page turner of a read. Brilliantly written, fast paced and contained short chapters which I personally prefer.

A well deserved five stars from me. Highly recommend. A story I won’t and can’t forget about anytime soon. Poor grace. I felt really worried for wellbeing her throughout.

*BLOG TOUR* Closer – K.L. Slater ★★★★★

Blurb; I know my daughter better than I know myself and if there’s one thing I know for sure at this moment: it’s that Maisie is not ok.

My ex-husband Shaun and I are still friends.
We would do anything for our beautiful little girl, Maisie.
But now Shaun has moved in with Joanne and suddenly, Maisie has a brand new family.
And there’s something not quite right about it…I know Joanne isn’t everything she says she is. Yet no-one will listen.
I need to discover what she’s hiding.
Because if I don’t, my daughter will be in terrible danger.

My Review; OH! MY! GOD! Wow! Holy poop. Let me start by saying this was going to be a four star review but those last eight chapters made this a five star review and the book a place into my top twenty reads of 2018!

My heart is still pounding as I write this review. Breathe… I’ve also got very sweaty palms after reading this story! Phew. Gets your heart pounding towards the end. Very very tense, edge of your seat action. Amazing. Outstanding… This book will mess with your head completely.

Closer has one of the most unexpected, twisted outcomes ever and I don’t say that lightly as all thrillers claim to have that these days, but this one has to be the best one I’ve endured yet.

I don’t want to talk to too much about the actual story as I would really urge you to read it and don’t want any spoilers popping out! But this is brilliantly written, contains short chapters and is fast paced! I felt so sorry for poor Maisie and Emma from the beginning. The ending has one massive cliffhanger leaving the reader wanting more, answers and open to interpretation!

Highly recommend! A must buy. A must read. A must have. But you’ve been warned you’re in for a massive shocker. This book blew me away. Very impressed. Brilliant.

*BLOG TOUR* The Secret – K.L. Slater ★★★★★

Blurb; You turn your back for a minute. And now your son is in terrible danger …

Louise is struggling to cope. As a busy working mum, she often has to leave her eight-year-old son Archie at her sister Alice’s flat.

Alice and Louise used to be close. But there’s a lot they don’t know about each other now – like the bottle of vodka Louise hides in her handbag, Alice’s handsome new friend and the odd behaviour of her next-door neighbour.

Archie is a curious little boy. He likes to play on his own at his auntie’s flat until one day when he sees something he shouldn’t. Now he has a secret of his own. One he can’t tell his mum. One that could put him and his family in terrible danger.

My Review; What a read! Brilliant. I enjoyed this… It is well written, easy to read, fast paced and contains short chapters.

At first this story makes you like all the characters and sets out the story perfectly… BUT THEN… It turns… I felt sorry for poor little Archie as no child should have to keep secrets, feel scared or feel unsafe especially around their own family. Then… I also started to feel for Alice! What a little star of a character she is. Constantly taking on little Archie and trying to get to the bottom of it all and expressing her concern, she really starts to build a friendship and bond with the little man even with her own illnesses ongoing.

However, I understand that Louise is struggling to cope but as a mother no matter what your child should come first. She really started to annoy me how much she passed her son onto Alice and didn’t even appreciate that Alice was always there. Taking advantage in my eyes.

You will have to read it to find out. A brilliant read. A well deserved five stars. Highoy recommend. I am loving all of K.L. Slaters stories I have read so far and I think the covers are gorgeous and eye catching.
