The House Guest – Mark Edwards ★★★★★

Blurb; A perfect summer. A perfect stranger. A perfect nightmare.

When British twenty-somethings Ruth and Adam are offered the chance to spend the summer housesitting in New York, they can’t say no. Young, in love and on the cusp of professional success, they feel as if luck is finally on their side.

So the moment that Eden turns up on the doorstep, drenched from a summer storm, it seems only right to share a bit of that good fortune. Beautiful and charismatic, Eden claims to be a friend of the homeowners, who told her she could stay whenever she was in New York.

They know you’re not supposed to talk to strangers—let alone invite them into your home—but after all, Eden’s only a stranger until they get to know her.

As suspicions creep in that Eden may not be who she claims to be, they begin to wonder if they’ve made a terrible mistake…

My Review; Another amazing read from Mark an author who has never let me down with his brilliant books. The House Guest is intriguing, mysterious and a gripping read. It does get a bit dark with a few deaths throughout but a very cleverly written and planned out story. Ruth and Adam were house guests until a stranger (Eden) turns up… Who is she really? A friend of the family? A stranger? An enemy?

A page turner of a read which had me second guessing everyone and trying to find out what happened to Ruth myself. A bit of a revelation/jaw dropping moment at the end for me which made me go OH!!!!

Brilliantly written, thrilling, fast paced, suspense filled and a page turner of a read. The cover suits this story so well. Always a pleasure to read one of Marks book cause you just don’t know what he’s going to put you through with each book. Highly recommend. A well deserved five stars from me. I didn’t want to put it down.

As Elliot’s in-laws become more comfortable in his home, encroaching on all aspects of his life, it becomes clear that they have no intention of moving out. To protect Gemma, and their marriage, Elliot delves into the Robinsons’ past. But is he prepared for the truth?

My Review; OMG! Where do I begin reviewing this beauty? I am a big fan of Mark Edwards books, so I couldn’t say no to this. Here To Stay is a standalone and brilliant read!

Here To Stay is brilliant written, thrilling, fast paced and edge of your seat good. I was beside Elliot the whole time. Due to the title I kind of knew what was coming but never expected the outcome at all or anything that occured throughout. As soon as the in laws came into the story I knew the were not my people, I didn’t like them at all.

This is a story that I wanted to devour but at the same time didn’t want to finish it too quickly, I lost, I finished it in two days. You really won’t want to put it down. It’s addictive. I throughally enjoyed every minute reading this and I love the cover, very eye catching. Can’t say a bad word about it other than it ended.

Here to Stay is released on the 1st of September 2019 and I highly recommend you all grab yourself a copy. Five stars from me. It’s also going into my top twenty of the year. One I won’t forget.

*BLOG TOUR* In Her Shadow – Mark Edwards ★★★★★

Blurb; Isabel’s life seemed perfect. Successful business, beautiful house, adoring husband. And then she was dead.

For four years Jessica has never doubted that her sister Isabel’s death was an accident. But when Jessica’s young daughter seems to know long-forgotten details about her aunt’s past, Jessica can’t shake the feeling that there’s a more sinister truth behind the tragedy.

As Jessica unearths disturbing revelations about her sister, and about the people she loved and trusted most, it becomes clear Isabel’s life was less than perfect and that Jessica’s might also be at risk.

Did someone murder Isabel? Are they now after Jessica and her family? The key seems to lie in the hands of a child. Can Isabel reveal the truth from beyond the grave, or is the answer closer to home?

My Review; Creepy, spooky, gripping, thrilling and haunting. Bloody brilliant. Another belter of a book from Mark Edwards! Another well worthy five stars. A must read! Highly recommend.

Books like this that contain a child as a main character tend to creep me out a little more than they should as children are so cute and innocent (Usually). Poor Olivia! I felt so sorry for everything she went through and had to experienced. Also the family as a whole…

At some point during the story everyone was a suspect! Jessica didn’t know who to trust, who was lying and who was telling the truth. She just wanted answers but things start to go too far and the damage has already been done.

This story will keep the reader on their toes and on the edge of their seat… Wondering, waiting and trying to figure out what did actually happen (I failed badly at that one). So unexpected! A jaw dropper of an outcome and cleverly thought out.

I absolutely loved it, enjoyed every minute of it. Would love to see this turned into a film! Brilliantly written. Fast paced! I am already looking forward to his next book! Mark Edwards has a reputation to keep up with these five star reads. A must buy.
