Manchester Orenda Roadshow 05.03.2019 round up.

WOW! What a brilliant night. This was my first book event (ever) and it was the best. Every single author and Karen is so welcoming, friendly and funny. I was nervous and excited beyond belief but I think I managed to keep it pretty cool until Karen asked “Are you okay?” Haha. Fab thanks.

So I arrived a little early had a browse of my sweet shop aka Waterstones (3 floors) was terrible and bought 3 non orenda books before the event even started! Oh dear. Then I popped for a coffee before the event… Low and behold who do I see approaching? Kjell Ola Dahl, Thomas Enger and Antti Tuomainen. Ofcourse I tried to play it cool… Waved and said hi!

Seen as we wasnt allowed into the event room aka storage room I soon found myself having coffee surrounded by the orenda lot! Dream come true right? Ofcourse!

The Event you ask? Oh we was in for a treat! However, I need to mention poor David. F. Ross came down with food poisoning so was unable to attend (don’t worry I still bought your book, infact I GOT THEM ALL). We started off with an introduction to each author, then was treated to a reading from each of their books with some laughs along the way. Some books I could have sat and listened to all night. A truely wonderful event, enjoyed by all.

I finally got to meet some fellow book bloggers who were absolutely lovely so a shout out to Joanne Robertson (Mychestnutreadingtree) and Jill from (Jillsbookcafe). Both lovely ladies.

I enjoyed myself and came away on such a high. So thank you to all the lovely authors of Orenda and the brilliant Karen for coming to Manchester. I am one happy book worm and book blogger managing to get ALL my books signed! Thank you. Until we meet again. Sorry for so much of my face! … ~~Author stalking.~~

My Review; This will make you shiver and the hairs on your arms stand up. Bloody brilliant. I read this over the Christmas break and it managed to slither its way into my top twenty reads of 2018. This book should come with a warning… Once you open it, you won’t want to close it. It’s all you will think about. A highly anticipated read you all need to read.

I absolutely love this series so far. Its outstanding. Unique. Different. I do however still need to read the first book where it all started. Changeling is book three in the series. Hydra is book two. Six Stories is book one. I also love the cover on this one, an eye catcher, simple and pretty.

This book just blew me away especially towards the end its a jaw dropper of a story. One that makes you go… WAIT A MINUTE! Brilliantly written, easy to read and fast paced. Can easily be devoured in one sitting. I am already looking forward to the next one and going back to Six Stories ASAP.

I would highly recommend you check this series and book out, all read brilliantly as standalones too. Taking a look back into some unsolved mysterys and crimes. I’ve found a new favourite author! A must read and buy series. A well deserved five stars.

My Review; I must start by saying this is the first book I have read by Matt and I am very impressed. Hydra is Matt’s second book released and I will be reading his other story called Six Stories very soon. Hydra had me intrigued and interested just from reading the prologue.

I absolutely love Matt’s writing style making the story easy to read and fast paced. The way the story is told leaves the reader to analyse the case themselves and I think it is brilliant, I haven’t read anything similar to this before. Instead of chapters in this book there is episodes, different but gripping.

You can tell Matt has put a lot of time and research into this story which had me hooked to the point I devoured it in two days, I didn’t want to put it down. Hydra is chilling and will give you goosebumps. I enjoyed reading this story very much and awarded a well deserved five stars. I would highly recommend you all read it if you haven’t already. Hydra was in my top twenty reads of 2017.
