Blurb; Star investigative reporter Ralph Buchanan’s glory days are behind him. His newspaper has banished him to Pakistan, not knowing the greatest moment of his long career is waiting for him there.
When Simone Jasnin asks him to help expose a grave injustice, he finds himself embroiled in a harrowng tale that began in a dusty settlement in rural Punjab, setting in motion a chain of events that will change the lives of everyone involved.
Seven years later in the city of Lahore, members of a prominent family are being brutally murdered, one by one. The only clue is a hand-carved wooden bangle left at the scene of each crime.
As the list of suspects grows and the tension mounts, Ralph realises the answers might be closer to home than he ever thought possible.
Solving the mystery will put him back on top but at what cost?
Only when the smoke clears will the killing stop and honour be satisfied…
My Review; After reading previous books by Owen this was a must read for me, he never disappoints me. I devoured this in a day and throughally enjoyed it even though some subjects are deep within. A page turner of a read which kept me intrigued and hooked throughout.
Brilliantly written. A story you lose yourself into and learn from, well I did. A different setting and atmosphere with this story compared to his previous stories but it was great, set in Pubjab. There are some dark and disturbing scenes in this book. Owen has tackeld some deep, real, touching and heartbreaking situations and sights in this book. A well deserved four stars from me and highly recommend. I look forward to more by Owen in the future.

Blurb; What if you were being stalked and no one believed you?
What if you were abducted in broad daylight?
What if you were chained to a bed and held captive in a cellar? What would you do?
Mackenzie Crawford screamed.
What if your wife went out at night and wouldn’t say where she was going?
What if she admitted she had a lover?
What if you came home one day and discovered she’d left?
What would you do?
Derek Crawford went to pieces.
What if a woman with an alcohol problem disappeared?
What if there was no evidence of a crime?
What if her brother asked you to help?
What would you do?
In Glasgow, DI Andrew Geddes put the case to the top of his list.
What if someone you loved was in harm’s way?
My Review; Oh Wow. Okay… So I have read previous books by Owen and all were great so I expected nothing less with this one. It was brilliant! Wow…
The beginning will have the reader intrigued and wanting to know what? Why? At the start I really felt angry towards Mackenzies character, especially as I felt it was her own fault, she’s an alcoholic and she was pushing her family away telling lies. An attention seeker?
But then things change… Noone believed her. She had noone or that’s what she thought. It was nice to see her family come together again even if it wasn’t under the best circumstances. Just when you think it’s all over case solved… IT ISN’T! BOOM.
This book must have one of the best, most unexpected outcomes ever. I never would have guessed it, honestly didn’t see it at all. Will keep you hooked till the very last page. Will Mackenzie get a happy ending? This story teaches you to be careful who you trust, including family. I honestly loved this so I gave it a well deserved four stars. Highly recommend! Devoured it in two days.
I look forward to more books by Owen in the future!

The body on the mortuary slab wasn’t who Charlie Cameron was looking for, but he knew who it was. Ian Selkirk had been stabbed through the heart and dumped in the loch. Suddenly, Charlie accepts his next missing persons case which becomes a fight for survival as Charlie faces a notorious Glasgow gangster, Jimmy Rafferty. Jimmy always gets what he wants, even his own family are terrified by him. Only problem is Charlie doesn’t know what Jimmy wants or where it is.
This story follows on from Games People Play which you should read first and includes the same characters from the story, making two brilliant stories! Owen has produced another outstanding story here which I would recommend you all read. I awarded it five stars as yet again I devoured it and loved it. This story is easy to read, fast paced and brilliantly written. Readers will have to prepare themselves for plenty of twists, turns and suspense filled chapters throughout especially towards the end! I didn’t figure out the plot either until all was revealed and I was shocked I raced through the story towards the end. Yes, once again I left my world and entered Charlies. I even had to sneak upstairs to keep reading a few times! I really hope Owen writes more stories like these as I really enjoyed them and was gripped throughout both. Owen Mullen is a new upcoming author to watch! This is the perfect story for readers who enjoy a brilliant page turner, thriller, mystery, crime and suspense filled story.
Enjoy. I did!
