Blurb; The keeper of family secrets, Patricia Roberts grows up isolated and lonely. Trust no one and you won’t be disappointed is her motto. Three men fall in love with her and she learns to trust, only to find that their agendas are not her own. With secrets concealed from her by the ultimate love of her life, and with her own secret to keep, duplicity and deceit threaten their relationship.
In a coming of age story set against the sweeping backdrop of the Second World War – evacuation, the Battle of Britain, the Blitz, buzz bombs and secret war work – Patricia ultimately has to decide whether to reveal her deepest held secret for the sake of her future happiness.
My Review; This is a beautiful coming of age story during the war. It is emotional in parts but beautifully written. I fell in love with Pats character she had to endure a lot. Evacuation, several house moves, death, love and secrets. I dont want to give much away but you watch this young lady grow throughout and its beautiful.
I’m personally very interested to read books like this and learn more about the wars and how life was back then, very different to how it is today. I did find some of the chapters were a little long for my liking, but I did lose myself into this story. The Keeping of Secrets took me back to those days.
A brilliant read. Highly recommend. Five stars from me. Pats character will be staying close to my heart, not a character that can easily be forgotten or a story to forget. I enjoyed every page, it brought a tear to my eye in parts. Emotional in parts, bound to tug on your heart strings.
